When ants find food, they use pheromones to mark the trail leading to it. As more and more ants follow that trail, they too leave behind additional layers of pheromones, reinforcing that trail, until it becomes a full fledged highway.  What if ants rode bikes?   My idea would be to create "virtual pheromone trails" created using a smartphone app to layout an evolving network of bike trails . What if we could transform that plastic into 3D ink, the feed material for 3D printers, maybe even from the comfort of our homes? The idea would be to develop a small, perhaps mobile, automatic recycling bin that processes waste plastic and turns it into a raw material for a new generation of 3D printed plastic products!
